Non-Denominational
SEEKERS Anonymous does not endorse any specific organized Religion or system of beliefs. This not only includes individual denominations of Christianity, but also world Religions, in general. We do not advocate for, nor discriminate against, Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Baha’i, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Shinto, Atheism, Agnosticism, etc., etc., ad infinitum.
-
Mutually Respectful
Our members agree to respect the opinions and beliefs of each other, and of non-members. The goal of SEEKERS Anonymous is to help all people discover their own Truth, and we acknowledge that the journey may be long and the path may be winding. Discouragement along the way is not constructive nor conducive to this goal.
-
Scientifically Oriented
SEEKERS Anonymous acknowledges the value and contribution of Science to human society. We pursue a reconciliation between scientific knowledge and an Ultimate Truth to the Universe. While we understand that such a Truth may, in the end, lie beyond the realm of scientific observation, we believe that a scientific approach is the only rational way that human beings can pursue this goal.
-
Rational-Minded
In accordance with Principle 3, SEEKERS Anonymous also discourages “blind” faith. Rather, we value logical, consistent, and self-evident argumentation that seeks to provide rational explanations for observed (and unobserved) phenomena. While all views may be explored, those that meet the above criteria will be given the most credence for further examination.
-
Historically Valid
SEEKERS Anonymous believes that spiritually-revealed history (e.g. Biblical history) does not supersede discoveries in the fields of Archaeology, Geology, Paleontology, etc. All evidence is examined critically, with preference given to data that can be reliably corroborated among multiple sources.
